In June 2010, French Quality Wines developed an exciting partnership with the Royal Court Theatre with the aim of promoting French wines to the theatre’s audience through sponsorship of £10 Monday nights. The six month activity positioned French wines in line with the diverse and innovative productions at an affordable price.
This initiative allowed theatre visitors to discover quality wines from all the French regions when going to see a show. During these six months an exclusive offer of 29 French wines from all wine regions, selected and supplied by Bibendum, was made available in the theatre’s restaurants and bars and included special food and drink promotions.
The autumn 2010 season was an extremely prolific and successful period for both French Quality Wines and the Royal Court. The café bar reported excellent sales during the French wines campaign. Overall, nearly 10,000 bottles (or equivalent units for by the glass) of French wine were sold. Promotions including wines of the month, wine recommendations for meals and a selection of wines for events helped to increase sales across the list.
“We received only positive comments from customers in the café bar in regard to this partnership and we will be changing our wine list in 2011 to include a greater number and variety of French wines following the excellent response we have received for this campaign”.
